The Story Behind FlowGen
We have a highly experienced team, led by CEO, Dirk Küster. After a successful career in the automotive sector, Dirk was driven by a passion for innovation and sustainability which led to the creation of FlowGen in 2015.
The aim was to address one of the world’s biggest challenges, decentralised power generation. We created an innovative design, optimised performance, and transferred proven manufacturing concepts from the automotive industry into wind energy.
Today, we continue to advance FlowGen’s mission, positioning us at the forefront of decentralised energy solutions.

Dirk began his career in the automotive sector, building expertise in material analysis with Rheinmetall in Germany, aerodynamic case studies, and prototype development in wind tunnels.
Ashley Crump
Ashley Crump joined FlowGen in January 2024, bringing a wealth of experience spanning the automotive and corporate finance sectors.
Yannik Baurain
Yannik Baurain leads product development, design optimisation, and the integration of advanced manufacturing processes into FlowGen’s decentralised energy solutions.
